The artist Nefer Rovira, with a long and prolific career spanning disciplines such as drawing, painting, poster design, puppetry, and stage design, exhibits her most recent work at the Museo del Càntir in Argentona, focusing on the goddess Demeter.

"Toll" is an immersion in the deep waters of memory, nature, and the sacred. In this exhibition, Nefer Rovira summons an ancient goddess: Demeter, a central figure who embodies fertility and the creative force of the earth. Her presence is the beating heart of this project, a cry silenced for centuries that now takes sculptural form to speak to us of cycles, absences, and rebirths.

Around Demeter, a symbolic landscape spreads, populated by rebellious flowers, beings that sprout from cracks and announce the persistence of life. Flowers that have become a recurring symbol in Nefer's work, as a metaphor for rebellious fragility, wounded beauty, and feminine resilience.

As guardians of this profound ecosystem, we encounter the custodians of water and humanity. Silent figures who watch over, who preserve what is essential, and who challenge us about our relationship with the planet and with ourselves.

With "Toll," Nefer Rovira invites us to look inward, to listen to the murmurs of stagnant water, to recognize what is preserved at the bottom and that, perhaps, we can still save.
