OPEN DIALOGUE WITH THE ARTISTS PERE AND JOSEP SANTILARI around his exhibition REALITY FROM A CONTEMPORARY VIEW

Friday, February 23 at 7:00 p.m

This open dialogue with Pere and Josep Santilari takes place on the occasion of their exhibition at the Museu del Càntir, organized and curated by Monica Ramon of the Artur Ramon ART gallery in Barcelona.

The works of the Santilari brothers are distinguished by their exceptional thoroughness and a realism that is intertwined with contemporaneity.

The Santilaris update these classic themes by inserting into their works subtle and sharp comments about contemporaneity, and they impose themselves on the national and international scene as masters of realism.

Josep Santilari and Pere Santilari are an exceptional case of twins who share the same way of drawing and painting. His small-format works, made with a unique technique of extreme skill and precision, are often mistaken for photographs. Over the last thirty years, his work has tackled various themes in the history of art, including still life, the female nude and vanitas.

"The personal pictorial philosophy of the artists is perfectly demonstrated in this exhibition, which perfectly combines the most current art with a look at that art, which we call classic and which is basically the reason and the evolutionary cause of it . Eschewing the dialectic between exact reality and poetic reality, the Santilari brothers offer us a reality between real and imaginary, in which we are all comfortable, especially for their wisdom in the skill of the craft of painting and their ability to transmit emotions". Fragment of the text of Pere Pascual, Art Critic
